Sat Dec 21 18:33:34 UTC 2024: ## Punjab’s Anmolpreet Singh Smashes Third-Fastest List A Century in Vijay Hazare Trophy
**Ahmedabad, India –** Anmolpreet Singh of Punjab etched his name in the record books on December 21st, smashing the third-fastest List A century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. His breathtaking 115 runs came off just 45 balls, including 13 fours and nine sixes, propelling Punjab to a nine-wicket victory over Arunachal Pradesh.
Singh’s incredible innings, achieved while batting at number three, took only 35 balls to reach the century mark. This places him behind only Jake Fraser-McGurk (29 balls) and AB de Villiers (31 balls) in the all-time List A rankings. He came to the crease after the early dismissal of Punjab captain Abhishek Sharma.
Punjab chased down Arunachal Pradesh’s modest 164 in a mere 12.5 overs. Prabhsimran Singh provided able support with an unbeaten 35 off 25 balls. Arunachal Pradesh’s innings was spearheaded by Techi Neri (42), Hardik Himashu Varma (38), and Prince Yadav (23), but their efforts were insufficient against Punjab’s disciplined bowling. Ashwani Kumar and Mayank Markande each claimed three wickets for Punjab.
This remarkable performance comes despite Anmolpreet Singh going unsold in the recent IPL auction, despite previous stints with Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad. His blistering century further solidifies his position as a rising star in Indian domestic cricket.
