**Ayodhya, India** – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared Sanatan Dharma the national religion of India during a religious ceremony in Ayodhya on Friday. He emphasized the collective responsibility of all citizens to protect it, highlighting the positive influence of religion and culture on society.

Addressing a gathering at the Ashtottarshat 108 Shrimad Bhagwat Paath and Panch Narayan Mahayagya, Adityanath participated in religious rituals and offered prayers for the state’s well-being. He linked the protection of Sanatan Dharma to the preservation of India’s cultural heritage, citing historical examples of temple desecration and the subsequent decline of those responsible. He used the example of Aurangzeb’s descendants, suggesting their current circumstances are a consequence of their ancestors’ actions.

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of learning from past mistakes to avoid repeating the errors that led to India’s subjugation. He concluded with a call for national unity in protecting and preserving Sanatan Dharma, asserting its importance for the safeguarding of humanity.
