**TIRUNELVELI, December 21, 2024** – The Department of Posts has inaugurated a nursing room at the Palayamkottai Head Post Office in Tirunelveli, marking a significant step towards improving customer care. This is the first such facility in the Southern postal region.
The room, opened Friday by V.S. Jaishankar, Postmaster General, Southern Region (TN), Madurai, is designed to support lactating mothers using post office services, including Aadhaar enrollment for newborns. G. Senthil Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Tirunelveli postal division, highlighted its pioneering nature within the region.
One mother utilizing the post office’s Aadhaar services expressed her appreciation for the new amenity, emphasizing its convenience and stress-reducing impact for nursing mothers.
