**Erode, Tamil Nadu, December 21, 2024** – A 42-year-old government bus driver was arrested in Erode district on Saturday for smuggling gutka. L. Krishnamoorthy, a spare bus driver from Anthiyur depot, was apprehended at a vehicle check post on the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border with 50 packs of gutka in his car. Police seized the car and the contraband, registering a case against the accused.
Separately, a meeting to address farmers’ grievances will be held at the Erode Revenue Divisional Office on December 24 at 11 a.m. The meeting will cover issues such as land surveys, encroachment removal, and other concerns affecting farmers in the Erode, Perundurai, Modakkurichi, and Kodumudi taluks. Farmers are encouraged to attend and submit their grievances.
