**Bengaluru, Karnataka –** BJP MLC C T Ravi was granted interim bail Friday by the Karnataka High Court on a sexual harassment charge filed by Congress Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar. The charge stems from an alleged verbal altercation in the Legislative Council, where Ravi is accused of using derogatory language against Hebbalkar.

Ravi was arrested Thursday in Belagavi and subsequently brought to Bengaluru. He filed bail applications in both the High Court and a special court for elected representatives, arguing his arrest violated Supreme Court guidelines. The High Court granted bail, ordering Ravi to cooperate with the ongoing investigation. The special court hearing has been adjourned until December 21st.

The incident sparked significant tension within the Karnataka Legislative Council. Following the arrest, alleged supporters of Hebbalkar attempted to enter the building to demand further action against Ravi, leading to heightened security measures. Congress leaders met with the Council Chairman to request action against Ravi. Ravi himself filed a separate complaint alleging an attempted attack by Hebbalkar’s supporters.
