**Jaipur, Rajasthan:** A tragic LPG tanker explosion on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway near Delhi Public School claimed the life of Anita Meena, a female constable serving in the RAC Fourth Battalion. Meena was on her way to duty in Chainpura and had boarded a sleeper bus from her home when the accident occurred. The intensity of the blast was such that Meena was severely burned, with her identification only possible through her bangles and nail polish.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over her family and the RAC battalion. After a post-mortem examination, her body has been released to her family, and she will receive a state funeral. The local administration is providing assistance to those affected by the explosion, which resulted in multiple casualties. The Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) will provide an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 2 lakh to the bereaved family.
