Sat Dec 21 14:20:16 UTC 2024: ## Local Publisher and ISRO Scientist Awarded Honorary Doctorates at Sharnbasva University Convocation
**Kalaburagi, Karnataka –** Sharnbasva University held its sixth convocation ceremony on Saturday, awarding honorary doctorates to ISRO scientist Ramanagouda Nadagouda and publisher Basavaraj Konek. The ceremony, held at the Poojya Basavarajappa Appa Memorial Auditorium, saw the conferral of degrees upon 939 undergraduate and 571 postgraduate students, as well as seven PhD recipients. Thirty-nine students also received gold and silver medals for academic merit.
Rani Channamma University Vice-Chancellor C.M. Thyagaraja delivered the convocation address, urging graduates to blend intelligence with worldly wisdom to navigate the challenges of a rapidly changing world. He emphasized the importance of ethical conduct and adaptability, highlighting Basaveshwara’s philosophy as a guide for responsible global citizenship. Thyagaraja cautioned against the pursuit of material wealth at the expense of personal fulfillment and ethical conduct.
The University Chancellor, Sharanabaswappa Appa, presented the honorary doctorates. Another recipient, Sri Sadashiva swami Peetadhipathi, was absent from the ceremony.
