**Bengaluru, December 21, 2024** – The Karnataka State Commission for Women has called for a high-level investigation into alleged derogatory comments made by former Minister and Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) C.T. Ravi against Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar.

Chairperson Nagalakshmi Chowdhry has written to Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti, urging him to initiate the probe. Chowdhry stated that Ravi’s remarks constitute an insult to Hebbalkar, the only woman minister in the Siddaramaiah government. She emphasized the seriousness of the matter and believes a high-level investigation is necessary to ascertain the truth.
