**Hyderabad, December 21, 2024** – The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Cyberabad Traffic Police (@HYDTP) was reportedly hacked overnight, with the account used to promote cryptocurrency platforms, including a private firm’s stablecoin. Authorities confirmed the breach but assured the public that no sensitive data was compromised.
Joint Commissioner of Cyberabad Traffic Police, Joel Davis, stated that efforts are underway to recover the account and that no systemic damage or data breach beyond the X account itself has been detected. This incident follows a similar compromise of the Hyderabad Traffic Police’s social media account on December 18th, where unauthorized likes were placed on politically sensitive posts. The investigation into both incidents is ongoing.
