Sat Dec 21 10:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Telangana CM Rejects Special Concessions After Stampede Tragedy
**Hyderabad, [Date]:** Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced that his government will not grant special concessions to the film industry following the stampede incident at Sandhya Theatre during the release of “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” which resulted in the death of a woman and critical injuries to a boy.
The CM’s statement came in response to criticism from opposition parties and concerns raised by AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, who called for a government statement on the incident. Reddy defended the police’s handling of the situation and condemned the online abuse he received following the arrest of Allu Arjun. He strongly criticized the lack of response from the film’s cast and crew towards the victims’ family, highlighting the absence of visits to the injured boy in the hospital.
Reddy reiterated his government’s commitment to protecting citizens and stated that those responsible for the tragedy will face legal action. He pointed out that while his government has provided significant support to the film industry, including ticket price increases and benefit show approvals, this would not come at the cost of public safety. He categorically ruled out any special exemptions for the film industry in cases involving loss of life, stressing that his administration will not tolerate such incidents. He asserted that his government will hold accountable anyone who endangers the lives of Telangana’s citizens.
