**Bengaluru, India** – Bajaj Auto, a prominent player in the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market, has launched two new versions of its popular Chetak electric scooter: the Chetak 3501 and 3501. The scooters retain the classic Chetak look while boasting upgraded features and a longer range.
The premium model, Chetak 3501, is priced at ₹1.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), while the Chetak 3502 is priced at ₹1.20 lakh. A third model, the Chetak 3503, is expected to launch soon.
Powered by a 3.5 kWh battery and a 4 kW motor, the new Chetak scooters offer a top speed of 73 kmph and a claimed range of 153 km on a single charge. The battery can be fully charged in three hours.
The scooters feature a 5-inch touch TFT display with integrated functionalities like maps, call answering/rejecting, and music control. Safety features include geo-fencing, theft alert, accident detection, and overspeed alert.
Bajaj Auto first launched the Chetak EV in 2020 and has since sold over 300,000 units. The company’s market share in the EV sector has grown from 12% in April to 27% in December. The new Chetak models aim to strengthen Bajaj’s position and compete with rivals such as TVS iQube, Ola S1, and Ather 450X.
