**[City, State] –** Bajaj Auto, a leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has launched its new Bajaj Chetak Electric scooter. The scooter is available in three variants under the ‘Chetak 35’ series: 3501, 3502, and an upcoming base model, 3503.
The top-spec 3501 variant boasts premium features like a TFT display with integrated maps, Bluetooth connectivity, and screen mirroring, along with document storage, geofencing, theft warning, and overspeed alerts. It is priced at ₹1.27 lakh (ex-showroom). The mid-range 3502 variant is priced at ₹1.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Pricing for the base 3503 model will be announced soon.
Built on a new frame, the Chetak Electric features a 3.5 kWh battery located under the floorboard, resulting in a 35-liter boot space—a significant improvement over previous models. The 3 kg battery offers a claimed range of 153 kilometers. A 950W charger allows for 0-80% charging in three hours.
The scooter retains a similar performance profile to its predecessor, with the top two models achieving a top speed of 73 kph, while the base model is expected to reach 63 kph. The scooter is powered by a 4 kW electric motor. Bajaj Auto is offering a 3-year/50,000 km warranty on the new Chetak.
The new Chetak competes with scooters like the TVS iCube, Ather 450X, Ampere Nexus, and Ola S1 range.
