NEW DELHI, Dec. 20, 2024 – The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) announced today that it contacted over 350 Members of Parliament (MPs) across all political parties during the recent Winter Session of Parliament. The outreach, part of the VHP’s annual Saansad Sampark Abhiyan (MPs outreach program), focused on issues including the liberation of temples from government control and support for the Waqf Amendment Bill.
VHP secretary general Bajrang Lal Bagra stated that the three-phase program, conducted between December 2nd and 20th, saw VHP volunteers from various states engaging with MPs from their respective regions. The organization emphasized the need to transfer government-controlled Hindu temples to Hindu society and advocated for a similar right to manage religious educational institutions, mirroring the provisions afforded to minority communities under Articles 29 and 30 of the Constitution.
