Thu Dec 19 23:10:00 UTC 2024: ## Bihar BPSC Exam Paper Leak Allegations Refuted
**Patna, Bihar, December 20, 2024** – The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has strongly refuted allegations of a question paper leak during the 70th BPSC preliminary examination held on December 13th. The denial comes in response to a social media video posted by Supreme Court lawyer Prashant Bhushan, who accused the BPSC chairman of misleading the public.
Bhushan’s video showed a seemingly easily-torn examination envelope, contrasting with the chairman’s claim that the envelopes were “untearable.” However, the BPSC’s Examination Controller, Rajesh Kumar Singh, clarified that the envelope shown in the video was a previously used one, and that the actual exam envelopes, featuring multiple layers of security, were tamper-proof. He emphasized the stringent security measures employed, including CCTV-monitored transportation, GPS tracking, and mobile jammers at exam centers.
While a rumour of a leak circulated at one center in Patna, the Bapu Exam Centre (BEC), following protests by some candidates, the BPSC maintains that the examination was conducted peacefully at all but one of the 912 centers. A separate incident at the BEC involving attempts to snatch question papers led to an FIR against several candidates, and 34 individuals face debarment from future exams. The district magistrate’s office released a video showing the disruption.
The BPSC stated that 3.28 lakh candidates appeared for the exam and only the BEC will undergo retesting before the results are announced. The Commission asserts that it received no formal complaints of a leak from any examination center.
