Fri Dec 20 00:39:09 UTC 2024: ## Rahul Gandhi Faces Police Case After Parliament Clash
**New Delhi:** A police case has been filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi following a clash outside Parliament House that left two BJP MPs injured. The complaint, lodged by BJP MPs Anurag Thakur, Bansuri Swaraj, and Hemang Joshi, alleges that Gandhi’s actions resulted in head injuries to MPs Pratap Sarangi (69) and Mukesh Rajput, who are currently hospitalized.
The complaint cites several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita, including voluntarily causing grievous hurt, endangering life, criminal force, criminal intimidation, and common intention. Some BJP members have even accused Gandhi of attempted murder. Sarangi claims he was injured after Gandhi pushed Rajput, causing a chain reaction.
Gandhi denies the allegations, stating the incident was a diversionary tactic to distract from Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent comments on B.R. Ambedkar. He claims the BJP MPs were the aggressors. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has also filed a complaint alleging he was injured by BJP MPs. Furthermore, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Phangnon Konyak accused Gandhi of shouting at her during the protest, describing his behavior as unbecoming of the Leader of the Opposition. The incident occurred during simultaneous protests by the ruling NDA and opposition parties outside Parliament. The situation is further complicated by conflicting accounts from both sides.
