Fri Dec 20 00:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Internet Sensation “Hawk Tuah” Vanishes After Cryptocurrency Crash
**NEW YORK** – The internet personality known as “Hawk Tuah,” who achieved viral fame over the summer, has disappeared from the public eye following the spectacular collapse of her memecoin, $HAWK. The influencer, whose real name is Brittany Welch, has not released a new episode of her popular podcast, “Talk Tuah,” in two weeks, nor has she posted on social media since December 4th – the day $HAWK launched and subsequently plummeted.
Welch’s meteoric rise to fame was followed by the creation and launch of her cryptocurrency. The coin initially saw a massive surge in value, reaching a market cap in the hundreds of millions of dollars, before crashing dramatically, leaving many investors with significant losses. Accusations of insider trading have surfaced, with claims that a small number of wallets held the vast majority of tokens and benefited from pre-launch access.
The situation further deteriorated after a chaotic public livestream on X (formerly Twitter), where Welch abruptly ended the discussion, leaving investors with unanswered questions. Her partners at OverHere, the crypto team involved in the $HAWK project, have since attempted to shift blame to Alex Larson Schultz, also known as Doc Hollywood, claiming he controlled all aspects of the token. Schultz, who is notably comedian Howie Mandel’s son-in-law, has yet to respond to these accusations.
Adding to the pressure, a lawsuit was filed Thursday against the $HAWK creators, alleging the unlawful sale of unregistered securities. While Welch remains silent, the legal action and mounting public scrutiny suggest that the situation surrounding the “Hawk Tuah” memecoin is far from over. Attempts to contact Welch for comment have been unsuccessful.
