**New Delhi:** Delhi Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi following a scuffle in the Parliament complex on Thursday. The FIR was filed at Parliament Street police station based on complaints from BJP MPs Locket Chatterjee, Hemang Joshi, and Anurag Thakur. The incident occurred during protests by both opposition and ruling party MPs over a controversial remark made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The clashes stemmed from a debate surrounding a speech by Amit Shah on the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution. The Congress and other opposition parties allege that Shah’s remarks insulted Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The BJP, however, countered these accusations, claiming that the Congress has historically disrespected Ambedkar.
While the police have registered an FIR against Rahul Gandhi, they are currently reviewing a complaint filed by the Congress party related to the same incident. The ongoing investigation will determine the extent of involvement of all parties concerned in the parliamentary scuffle.
