Kolkata – East Bengal pulled off a remarkable 4-2 victory against Punjab FC in a thrilling Indian Super League (ISL) match at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan. Despite trailing 2-0 at halftime thanks to goals from Asmir Suljic and Pulga Vidal, East Bengal orchestrated a stunning second-half comeback, scoring four goals in just 22 minutes.

Hijazi Maher initiated the comeback with a header, followed by an equalizer from P.V. Vishnu. An own goal by Suresh Meitei put East Bengal ahead, and David Hmar sealed the victory with a diving header. The comeback was further aided by Punjab’s Khaimingthang Lhungdim receiving a red card.

Punjab, despite their strong first-half performance, ultimately fell to their third defeat in four matches.
