**London, England** – Chelsea are reportedly among four European giants vying for the signature of Palmeiras defender Vitor Reis, according to GOAL. The 18-year-old Brazilian, who has already made 22 appearances for his club and represented Brazil at U17 level, is attracting significant interest.
Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and Arsenal are also said to have contacted Reis’ intermediaries, with Real Madrid reportedly showing the longest-standing interest. However, no formal offers have been made. Palmeiras, meanwhile, have stated their intention to keep the young defender, believing he still has much to achieve at the club.
Chelsea’s interest comes as no surprise, given their recent focus on acquiring young South American talent. The club has already invested heavily in players like Andrey Santos, Estevao Willian, and Kendry Paez. However, with the recent signing of Argentine defender Aaron Anselmino and a reported preference for a more experienced centre-back, a move for Reis at this time seems unlikely. Benfica’s Tomas Araujo is currently a more likely target to fill Chelsea’s remaining defensive needs. Reis is under contract with Palmeiras until 2028.
