**Port of Spain, Trinidad:** The West Indies Women’s cricket team leveled the three-match T20I series against India with a resounding nine-wicket victory in the second match on Tuesday. Chasing a target of 160, the West Indies cruised to victory in just 15.4 overs, losing only one wicket.

Hayley Matthews led the charge with an unbeaten 85 runs off 47 balls, studded with 17 fours. Her opening partnership with Kycia Knight (38 off 22 balls, including two sixes and six fours) laid the foundation for the easy win, putting on a 66-run stand for the first wicket. The pair were largely untroubled by the Indian bowlers, with Matthews continuing her onslaught even after Knight’s dismissal, adding a further 94 runs for the second wicket with Shemaine Campbelle (29*).

Earlier, India, after winning the toss, struggled to build substantial partnerships. Smriti Mandhana top-scored with a 62-run knock, including nine fours and a six, but received little support from her teammates. India’s innings was punctuated by regular wickets, ultimately finishing on 159/9.

The decisive third T20I will be played on Thursday. The West Indies made two changes to their playing XI, bringing in Nerissa Crafton for her debut. India also made one change, with regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur ruled out due to injury, replaced by Raghavi Bish. Smriti Mandhana led India in Kaur’s absence.
