**Kannur, Kerala, December 17, 2024** – P.P. Divya, former Kannur district panchayat president, has filed a defamation case against YouTuber Binoy Kunhumon, Thrissur native Vimal, News Cafe Live, and others, alleging defamatory comments targeting her on social media. The complaint, filed with the Kannur District Police Chief (City), is being investigated by the women’s police.
The controversy stems from the death of Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Naveen Babu, in which Divya is the sole accused. Babu died by suicide after an October 14th farewell meeting where Divya, reportedly uninvited, made public accusations against him, allegedly causing him significant distress.
Divya’s complaint claims the subsequent social media posts contained defamatory statements and threats against her family. The case continues to attract public attention, with ongoing calls for a thorough investigation into Babu’s death and the ensuing online attacks against Divya.
