**Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, December 17, 2024** – A swarm of hornets attacked five people in Krishnagiri district on Tuesday, resulting in one death and four injuries. The incident occurred while three farm laborers, Kalyani (45), Jayalakshmi (32), and Chinnasamy (45), were working on a farm near Kallipatti. The hornets pursued the workers to a nearby bus stop, where they stung two more individuals waiting for a bus, Periyasamy (45) and Gandhi (42). Periyasamy succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The four survivors were transported to Dharmapuri Medical College Hospital for treatment. Barur police have registered a case and sent the body for postmortem examination.
