**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, Dec 17, 2024** – The Thiruvambadi and Paramekkavu Devaswoms, organizers of the renowned Thrissur Pooram festival in Kerala, have appealed to the Supreme Court to overturn strict new guidelines imposed by the Kerala High Court regarding elephant parades. The Devaswoms argue that the High Court’s regulations, which include a mandatory three-meter minimum distance between elephants, are impractical and unscientific. This follows the High Court’s earlier rejection of a similar petition from the Devaswoms seeking modification of the guidelines. The Supreme Court will now consider the merits of the appeal.
