**Salem, Tamil Nadu, December 17, 2024** – Salem District Collector R. Brindha Devi on Tuesday inspected 14 development projects worth ₹2.70 crore in the Mecheri block. The projects, inaugurated on Tuesday, include school renovations and new constructions, the building of a new Anganwadi center, and road development. Specific projects highlighted include the renovation of Erumpatti Panchayat Union Primary School (₹9.40 lakh), the construction of two new classrooms at Kuttapatti Panchayat Union Primary School (₹28.35 lakh), and the construction of a new Anganwadi center at Erumapatti (₹16.55 lakh). Road development projects encompass 2.50 km of new roads and road improvements, totaling ₹1.49 crore.
The Collector stated that over the past three and a half years, ₹96.10 crore worth of projects have been undertaken in the Mecheri Panchayat Union through various government schemes. Of the 3,062 projects initiated, 2,274 have been completed, with 788 ongoing. She emphasized the instruction for timely completion of all remaining works.
