**COIMBATORE, INDIA (December 17, 2024)** – Coimbatore will be the hub of two significant events this week: a training session for data collectors and a technological conference focused on textiles.

The National Statistics Office (NSO) will conduct a two-day training program on December 18th and 19th for its field officials. This training will focus on data collection for two crucial surveys: the Comprehensive Modular Survey – Telecom, and the Survey on Household Social Consumption: Health. The health spending survey will run for approximately one year, starting January 1st, 2025, while the telecom survey will last three months. PP Vineesh, Joint Director of NSO (FOD), Coimbatore, will inaugurate the training.

Simultaneously, the South India Textile Research Association (SITRA) will host a technological conference on December 19th. Approximately 250 delegates from various sectors, including industry, academia, and research, will attend, presenting 10 technical papers. The conference will be inaugurated by Roop Rashi, Textile Commissioner, with a special address delivered by R. Lalitha, Director, Department of Textiles.
