Tue Dec 17 16:28:36 UTC 2024: ## South Africa Announces ODI Squad for Pakistan Series; Rabada Returns

**JOHANNESBURG, December 12:** South Africa has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan, starting December 17th. The team, selected by head coach Rob Walter, features a mix of experienced players and exciting young talent.

Notable inclusions are the return of Kagiso Rabada to ODI cricket after a year-long absence, and the ODI debut of Quinton Mafafa. Mafafa, who played for Mumbai Indians in the IPL and was named Player of the Series in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2024, has previously represented South Africa in T20Is.

The squad also sees the return of David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen to the ODI side after their last appearance in December 2023 against India. Aiden Markram also features, having been rested for the ongoing T20I series.

Veteran pacer Anrich Nortje will miss the white-ball series due to a left-toe injury.

The pace attack will be spearheaded by Rabada, supported by Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen, Andile Phehlukwayo and Ottniel Baartman. Temba Bavuma will captain the side.
