Sun Dec 15 18:23:52 UTC 2024: **PMK Founder Releases 20th Book, Criticizes Caste Perceptions**

CHENNAI, December 16, 2024 – Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S. Ramadoss released his 20th book, “Porgal Oiyvadhillai,” on Sunday, using the occasion to criticize the perception of his party as being confined to a specific caste. He lamented that the Tamil Nadu public’s view of him was limited, asserting that his book would offer a different perspective.

During the book launch, Dr. Ramadoss highlighted the PMK’s contributions, including the presentation of numerous shadow budgets, modeled after the European system. He outlined his ideal Tamil Nadu: a state free of alcohol and with efficient water management, also calling for a ban on ganja sales. He further advocated for stricter penalties – ten years imprisonment – for those bribing voters, aligning with the proposed “One Nation, One Election” initiative. He declared his intention to continue his political protests.

PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss also spoke, contrasting the impact of social welfare schemes. He argued that the proposed ₹1,000 monthly allowance for women would be less effective than the 108 Ambulance service, which he credited with helping numerous women across India. He stressed the importance of agricultural growth, land protection, ganja prohibition, and improved water resource management for Tamil Nadu’s future. He also expressed his frustration over the consistent portrayal of the PMK and his father as caste-based, despite their efforts to serve all communities.
