Sun Dec 15 18:23:12 UTC 2024: ## Gaza Journalist Killed in Israeli Air Strike; Death Toll Rises

**Gaza City, Palestine –** Ahmed Al-Louh, a cameraman for Al Jazeera and other media outlets, is the latest journalist killed in Gaza, bringing the total number of journalists killed in the past 24 hours to three. Al-Louh was among six Palestinians, including five Civil Defence workers, killed in an Israeli air strike on a Civil Defence post in Nuseirat camp on Sunday.

The attack, part of a wider Israeli military operation that killed at least 28 Palestinians on Sunday, targeted the Civil Defence headquarters while Al-Louh, wearing a press vest and helmet, was working. Al Jazeera strongly condemned the killing, calling for international accountability for the “systematic killing of journalists.”

Al-Louh’s death follows the killing of two other journalists on Saturday: Mohammed Jabr al-Qrinawi, killed along with his family, and Mohammed Balousha. According to Al Jazeera, at least 195 Palestinians, including several other Al Jazeera journalists, have been killed since the start of the current conflict in October 2023.

The Israeli military stated they are investigating the incident. However, this latest killing has raised further concerns regarding the safety of journalists working in Gaza. The ongoing conflict has resulted in a devastating loss of life, including civilians and emergency personnel. The Gaza Health Ministry reports that at least 44,976 Palestinians have been killed since October 7th. The sheer number of casualties and the targeting of civilians and essential services continues to escalate the humanitarian crisis.
