**Mumbai, December 16, 2024** – Maharashtra’s fourth National Lok Adalat, concluded on December 15th, successfully resolved a staggering 1,078,532 cases, according to the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA). This impressive figure includes 904,090 pre-litigation disputes and 174,442 pending cases.
The five-day event, spanning three High Court Legal Services Committees, 34 District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs), and 305 Taluka Legal Services Committees (TLSCs), also saw the disposal of an additional 52,455 pending cases during a pre-event drive. A significant ₹44.88 crore was recovered in 556,494 traffic e-challan cases, facilitated by virtual notifications.
The Lok Adalat addressed a wide range of disputes, encompassing motor accident claims, bank recoveries, matrimonial disputes, cheque dishonour cases, and utility bill disagreements. The MSLSA has announced the next National Lok Adalat for March 22, 2025, urging increased participation to further the cause of accessible and efficient dispute resolution.
