**Nagpur, Maharashtra –** Maharashtra’s newly formed Mahayuti government significantly expanded its cabinet on Sunday, with Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan administering oaths to 39 new ministers. The ceremony in Nagpur brings the total cabinet size to 42, just one short of the maximum allowed.
Eighteen of the newly sworn-in ministers are first-time MLAs, representing the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP coalition partners. This expansion comes ten days after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena) and Ajit Pawar (NCP), took office.
Deputy Chief Minister Shinde expressed confidence in the newly appointed Shiv Sena ministers, stating his belief that they will work to fulfill the people’s expectations. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar assured those MLAs not included in this round of appointments that they will have the opportunity to serve in the government within the next two-and-a-half years.
