Mon Dec 16 00:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Charli XCX Lands Major Role Alongside Natalie Portman in New Dark Comedy

**Los Angeles, CA** – Following a breakout year in music, pop superstar Charli XCX is expanding her horizons into the world of acting. The multi-talented artist has joined the star-studded cast of “The Gallerist,” a new dark comedy film also featuring Natalie Portman, Jenna Ortega, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Sterling K. Brown, Zach Galifianakis, Daniel Bruhl, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The film, currently in pre-production and set to begin shooting later this year, centers on a gallerist attempting to sell a dead body at Art Basel Miami. The script is penned by Yan (Birds of Prey) and James Pedersen (High Heat), and boasts a prestigious production team including Ash Sarohia, Jonathan King, Sophie Mas, Portman, Tom McCarthy, Rae Baron, and Zola Elgart Glassman.

This marks a significant leap for Charli XCX, whose previous acting credits are limited to voice roles and a cameo appearance as herself. The singer, recently crowned Variety’s Hitmaker of the Year, is clearly aiming for a prominent place in Hollywood, adding “The Gallerist” to a growing list of film projects that includes “Sacrifice,” “100 Nights Of Hero,” “Erupcja,” “I Want Your Sex,” “Overcompensating,” and “Faces Of Death.”
