Sun Dec 15 12:07:05 UTC 2024: ## Kejriwal Takes Aim at BJP’s “Missing” CM Face as AAP Announces Delhi Candidates

**New Delhi, [Date]** – The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released its final list of 38 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal contesting from the New Delhi constituency. The announcement was accompanied by a pointed attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which Kejriwal accused of lacking a chief ministerial candidate, a coherent plan, and a vision for Delhi.

In a social media post, Kejriwal stated the BJP’s sole focus was on removing him from power, criticizing their lack of achievements during their previous tenure. He contrasted this with AAP’s confident approach and prepared slate of candidates, which includes several ministers retaining their seats. Key incumbents include Gopal Rai (Babarpur), Saurabh Bhardwaj (Greater Kailash), and Satyendar Jain (Shakur Basti). Notable changes see Manish Sisodia moved to Jangpura and newcomer Avadh Ojha contesting from Patparganj.

The BJP, yet to announce its candidates, is reportedly considering Parvesh Verma to challenge Kejriwal in New Delhi. Meanwhile, the Congress, having declared 21 candidates, will field Sandeep Dikshit against Kejriwal in the same constituency. Kejriwal has reiterated his refusal to ally with the Congress, despite both parties’ membership in the INDIA bloc.

The upcoming elections, scheduled for February, will be crucial for AAP, seeking a third consecutive term, and will serve as a test of its governance model and public appeal. In the 2020 elections, AAP won a resounding victory, securing 62 out of 70 seats.
