**Chennai, December 16, 2024** – The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has announced the allocation of ₹39 crore for the diamond jubilee jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides, scheduled for January 2025 in Manapparai, Tiruchi. The event, coinciding with the birth centenary of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, is expected to attract over 25,000 participants, including international students.

The funding includes ₹5 crore from state government funds, ₹10 crore from the Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation, and ₹24.7 crore raised through public and private contributions. The jamboree will feature a range of activities, including a band march, folk dance performances, and a talent show. While School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi previously announced a ₹10 crore allocation, the total funding has now increased significantly to cover the large-scale event.
