**Mandya, Karnataka, December 15, 2024** – The 87th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, scheduled for December 20-22 in Mandya, is poised for a successful launch, with extensive preparations underway. Authorities have confirmed that the 67-acre venue near Sanjo Hospital will accommodate approximately 40,000 attendees.

MLA P.M. Narendraswamy stated that stage preparations are nearing completion, with all necessary amenities in place. The event will boast 450 book stalls, 350 commercial stalls, and 55 government stalls, along with 160 food courts to manage the anticipated crowds. Over 250 toilets and 50 bathrooms for cooks have been installed. Generator sets ensure uninterrupted power, and fire safety measures are in place.

Deputy Commissioner Kumar highlighted a 10-member specialist team dedicated to food safety, focusing on water quality testing. Three borewells and 5.8 km of pipelines provide drinking water, supplemented by three RO plants. A 24-acre parking area and free bus services from Mandya city and surrounding taluks, facilitated by KSRTC, will ensure convenient transportation. Route maps will be widely available. The event will be plastic-free. The Sammelana promises a large-scale cultural and literary gathering.
