**Belagavi, December 15, 2024** – Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar accused the BJP of obstructing discussions on crucial issues affecting northern Karnataka, including the Kalyan Karnataka and Mumbai Karnataka regions. Speaking to reporters at Hubballi airport Sunday, Shivakumar, who also heads the KPCC, criticized the BJP’s lack of unity and alleged that the party is more interested in playing politics than addressing developmental concerns.

While stating the government’s willingness to discuss irrigation issues, including the Mahadayi river basin projects, before the winter session concludes, Shivakumar urged BJP leaders Pralhad Joshi and Jagadish Shettar to expedite approvals from the central government, particularly from the forest department. He highlighted their previous support for the Mekedatu project and called on them to ensure the timely completion of the Mahadayi project.

Regarding the omission of BJP leaders from an FIR related to COVID-19 irregularities, Shivakumar clarified that the case is based on the Justice Cunha committee report and that the government is not targeting specific individuals.
