Fri Dec 13 19:22:13 UTC 2024: ## Babar Azam Harassment Case Adjourned Again; Hearing Set for December 2024

**Lahore, Pakistan** – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has once again adjourned the hearing in the alleged harassment case against former Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam. The case, filed in 2021 by Hamiza Mukhtar, who claims Azam promised marriage before assaulting her and failing to fulfill his promise, has been repeatedly postponed.

The latest adjournment, granted on December 12th, was due to the absence of Azam’s senior lawyer. The court expressed its displeasure at the repeated delays, noting the case has been pending for over three years. Mukhtar’s lawyer reiterated claims of rape and alleged that Azam owes her Rs1.2 million.

The court has now transferred the case to Justice Asjad Javed Ghural, scheduling the next hearing for December 16, 2024. Mukhtar’s allegations include claims of a long-term relationship, an abortion following Azam’s assurances of marriage, and subsequent refusal to acknowledge his responsibility. She previously presented medical documents supporting her claims. Despite attempts to file FIRs, Mukhtar stated she faced difficulties in registering complaints with the police.
