**Chennai, December 14, 2024** – Renowned Bharatanatyam exponent Chitra Visweswaran was conferred the prestigious title of ‘Nadhabrahmam’ at the inaugural event of the Isai Natya Nataka Vizha at the Narada Gana Sabha in Chennai on Friday. The award ceremony also saw mridangam exponent Mannargudi A. Easwaran receiving the Gottuvadyam Narayana Iyengar Award and thavil exponent Mannargudi M.R. Vasudevan being honored with the Tirunelveli P. Subramania Iyer Award.

Former Supreme Court Judge Justice V. Ramasubramanian presented the awards, praising Ms. Visweswaran’s dedication to Bharatanatyam and the Narada Gana Sabha’s longstanding success. He also lauded the achievements of Mr. Easwaran and Mr. Vasudevan.

Ms. Visweswaran expressed her gratitude, stating that art provides strength and control during life’s challenges.

Mohan Sreenivas, president of the Narada Gana Sabha, announced an extensive festival lineup featuring over 150 music, dance, and drama performances by 450 artists. Several other endowment awards were also presented at the event.
