HYDERABAD, INDIA – Popular Telugu actor Allu Arjun was sent to Chanchalguda Jail in Hyderabad on a 14-day remand following his arrest in connection with a stampede incident at a theatre. Despite the lower court’s decision, the High Court simultaneously granted him interim bail with certain conditions, creating a brief period of uncertainty about his release.

Arjun was arrested on December 13th for his alleged involvement in a stampede near Sandhya Theater in Chikkadapalli, resulting in one death and several injuries. After a medical examination, he was produced before the Nampally court which remanded him in judicial custody. Heavy security measures were in place to move him from the court to the jail, amidst a large gathering of his fans.

The High Court, while expressing sympathy for the victim’s death, ruled that Section 105 and 118 charges were not applicable to Arjun. The court emphasized Arjun’s right to life and granted him interim bail on condition that he not leave the country until the case is resolved.

The conflicting court orders left the situation temporarily ambiguous, with Arjun briefly incarcerated before the interim bail was processed. His ultimate release from jail remains pending.
