**Bengaluru, [Date]** – Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has been granted bail by the Karnataka High Court in connection with the murder of his fan, Renukaswamy. The court also granted bail to Darshan’s friend, Pavithra Gowda, and seven others implicated in the case.

Darshan was arrested on June 11, 2024, for the alleged murder of Renukaswamy, who was found dead on June 9 with multiple injuries near a Bengaluru drain. Initial reports suggested a financial dispute, but investigations revealed a larger conspiracy allegedly involving the actor. Authorities believe Renukaswamy was abducted from Chitradurga and tortured before his death, following the sending of obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda.

Following his arrest, Darshan was initially held at Parappana Agrahara Jail before being transferred to Ballari Central Jail after a photograph showing him relaxed with other inmates went viral. He is currently hospitalized for back pain. A total of 16 individuals were arrested in connection with the case.
