**Centurion, South Africa:** Pakistan’s former captain, Babar Azam, achieved a significant milestone during the second T20 match against South Africa on Friday. He became only the fifth batsman to score 14,000 or more runs in international cricket.
Azam reached the landmark during the match played in Centurion, despite a recent period of poor form. He contributed a quick-fire 31 runs off 20 balls in the match.
In his 303 international matches across all formats, Azam has amassed a total of 14,029 runs, including 31 centuries and 94 half-centuries. He currently holds the record for most international runs scored for Pakistan.
While Azam’s achievement is significant, the overall record for most international runs for Pakistan remains with former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, who scored 20,541 runs in 495 matches.
