**HARARE, ZIMBABWE** – Afghanistan secured a comprehensive victory over Zimbabwe in the second ODI, leveling the three-match series at 1-1. A strong bowling performance, spearheaded by Naveen-ul-Haq and Rashid Khan, restricted Zimbabwe to a low total, paving the way for an easy win for the Afghans.
Naveen-ul-Haq struck early, dismissing Marumani and setting the tone for the match. Zimbabwe’s batting lineup struggled to rotate the strike effectively, opting for big hits that frequently found Afghan fielders. Only Ryan Burl and Sikandar Raza offered significant resistance, with Raza’s 35 runs being the top score before he was caught by Azmatullah off a Naveen-ul-Haq delivery. The wickets were shared amongst Afghanistan’s five bowlers, with Naveen-ul-Haq and Rashid Khan taking six wickets between them. Rashid Khan bowled Ngarava for a duck, while the final wicket fell to Fareed Ahmad, who bowled Muzarabani for one.
The Afghan bowlers exploited a two-paced pitch, consistently challenging the Zimbabwean batsmen and stifling their scoring opportunities. The win marks a strong comeback for Afghanistan after their loss in the opening match. The deciding third ODI will determine the series winner.
