Fri Dec 13 14:54:07 UTC 2024: ## Telangana Minister Pledges ₹1 Crore for RGUKT Basar Upgrades

**Nirmal, Telangana –** Telangana’s Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare, Seethakka, has announced ₹1 crore in funding for improvements at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) in Basar. The announcement follows a meeting with students who raised concerns about infrastructure, faculty shortages, and food quality.

Students at the university, also known as Basar IIIT, highlighted a need for more faculty, improved infrastructure, a change of mess contractor, additional mess facilities, better food quality, increased internet access, laptops, and library upgrades. The university houses approximately 9,000 students.

Minister Seethakka assured students that the government is committed to strengthening RGUKT and improving amenities to ensure quality education. She directed officials to address the students’ concerns, particularly regarding food quality and overall campus facilities. The Minister’s visit included a briefing from the Collector and the RGUKT vice-chancellor on existing welfare initiatives. Mudhole MLA Rama Rao Patel also attended the meeting.
