Thu Dec 12 23:03:24 UTC 2024: ## Litton Das to Lead Bangladesh in West Indies T20I Series

**Kingstown, WI** – Litton Das will captain Bangladesh for the first time in a full T20I series, leading the team in a three-match encounter against the West Indies. The series concludes the ongoing tour of the Caribbean. This appointment comes as regular captain Najmul Hossain Shanto recovers from a hamstring injury, and with Shakib Al Hasan’s international future remaining uncertain.

The squad sees several notable inclusions. All-rounder Shamim Hossain returns to the national side after a hiatus, while 21-year-old medium-fast bowler Ripon Mondol receives a call-up. Other newcomers include Hasan Mahmud, Nasum Ahmed, Soumya Sarkar, and Afif Hossain.

Several players from the last T20I squad are absent, including Towhid Hridoy (groin injury), Mustafizur Rahman (on paternity leave), Rakibul Hasan, and the recently retired Mahmudullah. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who captained the team in the recently concluded Test series, will continue his role in the ongoing ODI series but will feature in the T20I side.

The three T20 Internationals will all be played in Kingstown. The series promises to be an interesting one, with a new captain and several fresh faces aiming to make their mark on the international stage.
