Thu Dec 12 18:45:06 UTC 2024: ## Kerala High Court to Rule on CBI Probe into Death of Former ADM
**KOCHI, December 13, 2024** – The Kerala High Court has reserved its order on a petition demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the death of K. Naveen Babu, former Kannur Additional District Magistrate (ADM). The petition, filed by Babu’s widow, Manjusha, alleges inconsistencies in the initial investigation raise suspicions of homicide.
The petitioner’s counsel highlighted discrepancies between the inquest report, which noted bloodstains on the deceased’s undergarments, and the post-mortem report, which found no such evidence. Furthermore, the counsel argued that the lack of viscera preservation and toxicological analysis to rule out poisoning points to significant procedural lapses.
The Director General of Prosecution, T.A. Shaji, countered the petition, stating that the petitioner failed to provide evidence of police misconduct and that the ongoing investigation is proceeding correctly. The High Court is now expected to deliver its verdict on the matter.
