**Eluru, Andhra Pradesh:** A shocking incident has unfolded in Eluru, where a teenage girl, a junior college student, allegedly threw her newborn baby from the fourth floor of a building, resulting in the infant’s death. The incident occurred on Sunday near Amlodbhavi School in Ashok Nagar.
The girl, a resident of Kurnool currently staying in a hostel at St. Joseph Convent, concealed her pregnancy throughout the nine months. Early Sunday morning, she went into labor and delivered a baby girl. According to police reports, she then allegedly threw the infant from the hostel terrace.
The baby’s body was discovered by a security guard in the bushes below, covered in blood. Residents of a nearby apartment building noticed individuals carrying buckets of water to the terrace and cleaning up afterwards. They filmed the activity, and upon closer inspection of the video footage, noticed bloodstains, prompting them to alert the police.
Eluru Two Town police and a clues team arrived at the hostel and found the junior college student, a minor, who was then taken into custody and transported to a government hospital for medical attention. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the identity of the father, why the pregnancy was kept secret from family and hostel authorities, and how the delivery was managed. They are questioning the girl, her family, and hostel staff to unravel the mystery surrounding the baby’s death. The police are also investigating whether the baby was born dead or if its death was caused by the fall or other means.
