**JAMSHEDPUR, INDIA –** Budding chess players and officials in Jamshedpur celebrated the 55th birthday of five-time World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand at a special event held at the Chandan Chess Academy. The celebration included the cutting of a birthday cake by Purabi Ghosh, and was attended by numerous young players including Saanvi Gandhi, Souryadipta Sarkar, and Nikunj Agrawal. Social worker Akshay Agarwal also graced the occasion.
International Arbiter Chandan Kumar Prasad, co-organizer of the event, shared a personal anecdote about meeting Anand in 2020, calling it a “dream encounter,” and wished the champion continued success. The event served as a celebration of India’s rich chess legacy.
