Bengaluru, December 13, 2024 – Madhya Pradesh secured a commanding seven-wicket victory over Delhi in the second semi-final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, setting up a final clash against Mumbai on Sunday. Played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the match saw Madhya Pradesh chase down Delhi’s 146-5 with 26 balls and seven wickets to spare.

Captain Rajat Patidar led the charge with a breathtaking 66 not out off just 29 balls, smashing four fours and six sixes. His unbeaten 106-run partnership with Harpreet Bhatia (46 off 38 balls) proved to be the cornerstone of Madhya Pradesh’s victory. Harsh Gavli also contributed a quick-fire 30.

Earlier, Delhi’s innings was restricted to 146 thanks to a disciplined bowling performance by Madhya Pradesh. Anuj Rawat top-scored for Delhi with an unbeaten 33, while Priyansh Arya (29), Ayush Badoni (19), Yash Dhull (11), Himmat Singh (15), and Mayank Rawat (24) also made contributions. Venkatesh Iyer was the pick of the Madhya Pradesh bowlers, taking two wickets for 12 runs. Tripuresh Singh, Avesh Khan, and Kumar Kartikeya each claimed a wicket.

Mumbai had previously defeated Baroda in the first semi-final to earn their place in the final. The highly anticipated final between Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh will take place on Sunday.
