**Sarguja, Chhattisgarh:** A shocking incident of murder has unfolded in Dhorpur, Sarguja district, where a niece allegedly killed her aunt following an argument at a party. The incident occurred late last night during a “murga party” (a party featuring chicken dishes and alcohol) attended by the aunt, her niece (Prabha Vishwakarma), and her nephew (Amrit aka Chanthu).
According to police, the argument erupted after the party concluded. The aunt, identified as Bhinsarhi, objected to the presence of several young men who the niece had invited. This led to a heated confrontation, during which the niece allegedly struck her aunt on the head with a burning piece of wood. She then reportedly set her aunt’s clothes on fire before fleeing the scene.
Bhinsarhi succumbed to her injuries. Her nephew, Chanthu, later moved her body and discarded it outside a neighbor’s house. The neighbor discovered the body in the morning and alerted the police.
Police detained Chanthu, who confessed to the events of the night and implicated his sister, Prabha. Prabha has been arrested, while Chanthu’s role in the incident is still under investigation. A post-mortem examination has been conducted, and the body has been released to the family. The police investigation is ongoing.
