NEW DELHI – The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results of the UPSC Civil Services (Mains) Examination 2024 on December 9th. The results are available on the official UPSC websites, upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in. A total of 14,627 candidates, who had successfully cleared the preliminary examination, appeared for the mains exam, the second stage of the Civil Services Examination.
Successful candidates will now proceed to the interview stage in Delhi. The UPSC will announce the interview schedule in the coming days. The interviews will be conducted over several days in different shifts. Candidates can access their scorecards on both official UPSC websites.
The UPSC clarified that only the mains examination results have been released. Marksheets will be issued after the interviews are completed, approximately 15 days after the interview results are announced. The final results will be based on the combined scores of the mains examination and the interview. The UPSC also emphasized that service preferences declared in the Detailed Application Form (DAF) are binding and cannot be changed after selection.
The UPSC provided a five-step guide for candidates to check their results online:
1. Visit the official UPSC website (upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in).
2. Click on the “UPSC CSE Mains Result 2024” link.
3. Enter the required details and submit.
4. View the results displayed on the screen.
5. Download and print the result for future reference.
