**Bengaluru:** Andhra Pradesh’s hopes of winning the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament ended in a thrilling quarter-final defeat against Uttar Pradesh at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Andhra Pradesh, batting first, managed a respectable 156/6 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to contributions from Ricky Bhui (25), Nagavaraprasad (34*), and Sasikanth (23*). However, Uttar Pradesh chased down the target with relative ease, reaching 157/6 in 19 overs. Karan Sharma (48), Rinku Singh (27*), and Nigam (27*) led the chase.
Meanwhile, in another quarter-final clash, Bengal secured a dramatic win over Chhattisgarh thanks to a stunning cameo from India pacer Mohammed Shami. Chasing a challenging 159, Bengal was struggling at 114/8 in the 16th over before Shami blasted 32 runs off just 17 balls (including three fours and two sixes), steering his team to victory and a place in the semi-finals.
